Sunday Star - 2/20/2017

On Jan. 18, a small group met at Easton VFW Post 5118 to honor the 100th birthday of Leonard "Pops" Albee. Among the guests were Sen. Addie Eckardt, R-37-Mid-Shore, and Del. Johnny Mautz, R-37B-Talbot. In addition to their proclamations, they presented Albee with a citation from Congressman Andy Harris's office and a surprise citation from Gov. Larry Hogan, citing Albee's achievements in life, including his military service, and recognizing his 100th birthday. Albee, an Army veteran, received a Purple Heart for injuries sustained at the Battle of the Bulge. He is the oldest member of Easton VFW 5118.
