Elmer T. Saver, 93, of Paris, went home to be with his Lord Tuesday, December 20, 2016, in Woodland Hills Manor, Weirton, W.Va.He was born August 9, 1923, in Penowa, a son of the late John Sr. and Susan Mikus Saver.He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served for 16 years as a Navy mechanic during World War II and the Korean War, attaining the rank of first-class petty officer.He was a member of Ironworkers Local 79 of Norfolk, Va., and Local 549 of Wheeling, W.Va. He retired in 1986 as supervisor of the construction department of Weirton Steel with 32 years of service.He was a member of Weirton Steel Club and American Legion Post 698 of Burgettstown.Surviving are a son, Geoffrey Saver, husband of Judy, of Hookstown; a daughter, Mary Susan Saver Debold of Oakdale; three grandchildren, Jessica (Dave) Saver Dominowski of Georgetown, Stacey (Jim) Saver Creese of Aliquippa and William (fiancée Jess) Pryslak of Carnegie; and two great-grandchildren, Jeffrey McCartney and Haley Creese.Deceased are his wife, Helen, of 58 years and son-in-law Jim Debold.Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 23, with the Rev.
