Macon Telegraph - 4/24/2019

April 24-- Apr. 24--WARNER ROBINS, Ga. -- Have questions about veteran benefits? There's an event in Warner Robins that will help you find answers.

At Supermarket of Veterans Benefits, veterans may establish eligibility for state veterans benefits, apply for U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs health care benefits, disability compensation or pension benefits and obtain help in obtaining military medals and records.

Veterans can also find out about education and job training grants, employment opportunities and get information on home mortgage and small business loans.

Additionally, veterans will learn about nursing home care and aging services, burial in veterans cemeteries, military retiree information, and veterans driver's license and car tags.

Representatives of more than 30 federal, state and local government agencies are expected to be on hand.

Free health screenings, health benefits enrollment assistance and seasonal flu shots will be available at a health fair provided by medical personnel from the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin.

Billed as a gathering of local, state and federal government agencies to provide a "one-stop shop" for veterans benefits, the free event is April 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Larry Walker Arena at Central Georgia Technical College at 80 Cohen Walker Drive in Warner Robins.

The Supermarket of Veterans Benefits has been held in different cities across the state by the Georgia Department of Veterans Service since 1966.
